21st Century Learners
Learning is now a life-long process of coping with change. This video shows us that learning how to learn is the basis of education today. 21st Century Learners prefer to learn by working in teams in pear to pear situations within an environment that affords a fair amount of flexibility. They prefer to “be engaged”, as stated in the video, in their learning and be able to experience learning first hand through exploration. Today’s students also prefer visual and kinesthetic activities over reading and listening activities. Finally, they want to be challenged to reach their own conclusions and find their own results.
I believe that iPads are giving us the opportunity to experience learning in the 21st century. Using iPad in the classroom is important and leads us to be creative. It gives us the opportunity to work in a team, to be responsible for our own learning, to work independently from the teacher, to express ourselves and to feel part of the learning process by actively participating in it.
